The company’s history goes back as far as February 1955, when Hani Nasser, the actual CEO’s father, starts his career as a licensed diamond buyer in Sierra Leone. After 20 years of successfully building up a network of contacts on the African continent, Hani Nasser takes over SanaDiam NV in Antwerp in 1977, transforming the company into one of the bigger players in rough diamond trading.
When Hani Nasser’s sons Fidaa (1986) and Ossama (1988) join the company, they decide to embark on a new phase of the company’s development, by building new partnerships in rough trading with Russia. This activity also leads to the creation of diamond manufacturing plants like Rossana (1992) and Alsana (1993), specialized in polishing Russian rough of larger make.
More recently, SanaDiam NV has heavily invested in a strong management team, enabling it to focus increasingly on the open market to purchase rough diamonds and to build a global network of suppliers and buyers. With rough tenders as another supply source, SanaDiam has further enriched its intricate pricing and trading know how, putting the company in an excellent position for future growth.
